Contractor Supervising Officer

This role is based in our Pride Park, Derby site.

Main Purpose of the Role

To support the Branch Manager by providing Contractor Supervision across multiple technical departments on multiple customer sites. To be responsible for HSE compliance to national and customer standards and to ensure all work is completed to the customer’s satisfaction and accurate work records are maintained.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide HSE adherence at all levels of the business.

  • Review operational and HSE documentation of sub-contractor wishing to attend customer sites.

  • Review, revise and authorise RAMS to cover planned calibration work on customer sites.

  • Liaise with customer to develop effective working relationships.

  • Assists with the scheduling of contractor visits to customer sites and liaise with customer staff to ensure planned work visits are convenient and effective.

  • Complete contractor performance reviews on a timely basis and establish development plans as required.
  • Communicate regularly with sub-contractors and customers to maintain a good communication loop.
  • Provide Key Performance Indicator reports to drive continuous improvement.

  • Help develop and implement process improvement plans.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • IOSH or NEBOSH Certified

  • Preferably qualification level (Degree, HND, HNC).

  • Some Calibration/ Measurement/Engineering experience (preferably within the aerospace industry).

  • Project Management/Process development experience would be useful.

  • Customer/Stakeholder facing experience.

  • Self-starter, resourceful, flexible, responsive, detail oriented and possess a good work ethic.

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written.

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate teamwork and customer liaison capabilities. Have excellent problem solving skills both operational and technical. Be dynamic, hands on, flexible and understand the needs of the business and our customer’s demands.

Occasionally you may be required to perform other tasks which are not included in the above description, but are within the capabilities of the individual and where necessary training will be given.

Main Purpose of the Role

 Customer facing, you will be responsible for providing excellent Customer Service at all times. You will maintain and develop strong Customer relationships and have full responsibility for assigned accounts. You will support Logistics and Production Teams in timely, cost effective receipt, accounting, and processing of equipment and Certificates.

 

You will work closely with the UK Sales Team to ensure that Customers are aware of Trescal and the excellent service which we can provide.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Company Safety policies and procedures.
  • Take telephone calls concerning Customer service related queries.
  • Progress the flow of work within in-use Company ERP systems.
  • Process incoming and outgoing subcontract items.
  • Work to continuously improve systems and processes, to enable the progressing of work to be effective.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with internal and external Customers to provide factual and relevant information, ensuring the smooth running of an account.
  • Deal efficiently with and monitor Customer enquiries.
  • Raise purchase requisitions, where required, for Work In Progress jobs.
  • Raise sales invoices/credit notes as directed by Line Management.
  • Ensure that Customer and Supplier enquiries are satisfactorily resolved and closed within agreed timescales.
  • Complete assigned training and development (through ongoing evaluation) to deliver an effective service to internal and external Customers.
  • Support cost and performance monitoring of Suppliers in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Support Company Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Support the planning and provision of Site and Regional Sales Strategies.
  • Complete Workflow and administrative documentation correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Support colleagues’ daily routine when workload requires.
  • Support UKAS and Customer surveillance and accreditation audits.
  • On request, participate and contribute to relevant site meetings.

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of Office Suite.

  • Self-motivated and team orientated.

  • Ability to identify and meet Customer’s needs and requirements.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in a busy and demanding environment.

  • Ability to organise time effectively and conduct multiple tasks efficiently and in line with specified timelines.

  • Good attention to detail and the ability to analyse data and interpret the information effectively to continuously improve the department and/or team.
