Technician - Dimensional Metrology

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Dimensional Calibration Technician, based at our site in Montreal, Quebec.

 

Main tasks include calibration of dimensional instruments such as: Micrometers, Calipers, setting rods and other types of go / nogo gauges, comparators and dial probes, gauge blocks, thread gauges (rings, plugs), dimensioning of parts.

Calibration of instruments in other possible fields according to experience.

Requested skills:

- Having previously worked in a calibration laboratory or related field for at least 2 years

- Training in machining techniques or mechanical engineering, any other related field (DEC or equivalant)

- Interpretation of engineering drawings

- Very good knowledge of MS Excel software and good computer skills in general

- Estimation and calculation of measurement uncertainties related to metrology

- Good coomunication and autonomous

- Biligual (French and English)

- Any training related to the field of metrology will be an asset.

Technician - Calibration / Metrology

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a calibration technician at our site in Brampton, Toronto.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Calibrate various measuring instruments in the following discipline: Temperature, Pressure, Dimensional, Electrical, Force and Torque

- Repair and adjust gauges if needed

- Perform off-site (at customer's location) calibrations

- Participate in all On the Job Training (O.J.T) and continuous technical improvement training programs

Requested skills:

- Degree or diploma in Michanical or Electrical Engineering

- Have at least one (1) year of experience 

- Must have knowledge of metrology and ISO-17025

- Must have experience in calibrating dimensional, electrical and mechanical gauges instruments.

- Must complete Basic Metrology / Gauge Calibration course and other mandatory company training requirements.

- Skilled in communication, orally and written

- Must be able to travel: valid passport, Class G driver's license

Dimensional Calibration Technician

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Dimensional Calibration Technician, based at our site in Pride Park, Derby.


Purpose of the Role
To be responsible for calibration of all aspects of dimensional metrology and liaising with customers to ensure they receive a first class service. Undertake Dimensional calibration inspections, measurements properly to the correct procedures, instructions and specifications. Maintain relevant records of work, data and results in a traceable and auditable manner utilizing EMS and Gage InSite management System.

The main accountabilities:

Calibration of Mechanical Measuring equipment - Micrometers, Callipers

Height Gauges, Torque Wrenches, Gauge Blocks

Calibration of Production Gauging - Plain Plugs, Screw Plugs, Spline Gauges

Dimensional checks on Fixtures/Tooling using first principle methods

Maintain the Calibration Database and filing system

Maintenance of Calibration Certification and files

Assist in the development and Improvement of Inspection and Calibration procedures

Performing calibration, supervised or with minimum supervision, of instrumentation with agreement from the Laboratory Supervisor or Laboratory.

Calibrating instruments where there are existing procedures in which training has been provided and authorisation given. To understand and utilise calibration procedures and have a basic understanding of the importance and relevance of uncertainty budgets.

To conform to quality standards as laid down in the company procedures and to generate accurate calibration records and calibration certificates.

Participate in internal audits as required by the Trescal Quality Manager within the customer/Trescal facility.

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

Ideally technical qualification such as degree, HND, HNC, NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or above.

Extensive calibration knowledge and UKAS certification preferred.

Knowledge of calibration practices and theories, analogue and digital circuit analysis.

Knowledge in Windows-based and laboratory automation software.

Experience of working within Customer focused environment

RF Calibration Technician/Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a RF Calibration Technician/Engineer, based in Yateley.

Role
To be responsible for all aspects of RF calibration, measuring instrumentation to national standards in a UKAS -17025 accredited Laboratory to ensure a first class service. Undertake RF calibration measurements to the correct procedures, instructions and specifications. Maintain relevant records of work, data and results in a traceable and auditable manner utilising the relevant business management system.

Main Responsibilities

Calibration of RF Measuring equipment

Conversant with VSWR, VRC, Attenuation, Generation and measurement of RF up to 110 GHz

Maintain the Calibration Database and filing system

Maintenance of Calibration Certification and files

Assist with on the job training when required

Assist in the development and Improvement of Inspection and Calibration procedures

Participate in Trescal Interlaboratory measurement audits

Ensure customer satisfaction and timely turn-around on all equipment and service

Perform other laboratory support functions as required in an efficient and orderly manner,

Participate in external/internal audits as required by the Trescal Quality Manager within the Trescal facility.

Ensure that mandatory and legislative QH&S/HS&E aspects of work are implemented at all times.

Endeavour to complete all work within the budgeted timescale and target dates and ensure proper control and accounting of work in progress is maintained and reported to your line manager.

Key Purpose of the Role
The Technician is required to perform calibration, verification and repair to national standards, specifically, DCLF equipment. Maintain relevant records of work, data and results in a traceable and auditable manner utilising the relevant business management system.
