Air Liquide announces the sale of Climats SA and Sapratin Technologies SA to Weiss Umwelttechnik, a branch of the German group Schunk. These two companies, specialized in the manufacturing of climatic chambers and related services, had been acquired by Air Liquide in April 2004 when it acquired the calibration activities of Livingston in continental Europe.

Air Liquide Denmark takes a majority in AREPA Test & Kalibrering A/S in Denmark; Air Liquide Gas AB in Sweden takes over Arepa Mätteknik company, based in Karlskoga, allowing CEJ Measurement Services to enlarge its technical skills and to offer a broader range of services to its customers.

Air Liquide Spain acquires a majoritystake in ITM calibration service company based in Zaragoza, Spain.

Air Liquide Gas AB in Sweden takes over the calibration laboratory of CE JOHANSSON and creates CEJ Measurement Services AB; first expansion of Air Liquide calibration service business outside France.
1999
METROTECH, a specialist in calibration services in France, joins Air Liquide; this is the launch of Air Liquide calibration service business.

Present in 70 countries, Air Liquide, a specialist in industrial and medical gases and related services, is pursuing a strategy to develop its range of industrial services. Since 1999, Air Liquide has been working to build up its Calibration Service business, centered around its subsidiary Metrotech, to which a number of other specialized companies have been added.
