CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN II

Trescal is the best place I have ever worked, they value my knowledge and I have great opportunities to learn and develop my career.

Prior to joining Trescal, Florentino worked for over 20 years as a Calibration Technician/Engineer for various companies, performing on-site calibration services at customer facilities in Canada, Mexico and the US.

On the day of his interview, he was very impressed to see a robot calibrating Digital Multimeters (DMMs) and never imagined that he would be working on this project. Florentino is now responsible for keeping it running, creating new programs and troubleshooting when necessary.

He is also responsible for their Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) in the Dimensional Lab and for running automated Metcal procedures in the Electronics Lab.

He believes that Trescal is one of the best places to learn to be a better metrologist every day, thanks to the new challenges he faces and the continuous support he receives from knowledgeable partners.

QUALITY ASSURANCE LEAD

I’m constantly surrounded by individuals who possess a wealth of calibration knowledge, and their willingness to share their insights and experiences is extraordinary.

Nathan’s career path has been a series of steps that have allowed him to accumulate diverse experiences in quality assurance across various industries such as Kellogg’s, Eastern Oil Company and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Joining Trescal was a conscious decision driven by both personal and professional considerations and he is now excited to be part of this dynamic organisation.

His role as the Quality Assurance Lead allows him to be involved in problem solving and continuous improvement. He takes pride in working with a dedicated team to identify the root causes of issues, develop action plans for correction, and contribute to the creation of intuitive and reliable systems.

He has been actively involved in several key initiatives, one of the most important is Trescal US QMS Create + Train Project. This project aims to fill any remaining gaps in Trescal US’s corporate Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with the Quality manual and to harmonise Trescal US’s QMS across all laboratories. The initiatives he has been involved in have demonstrated his commitment to quality assurance and demonstrated his ability to work collaboratively and use his expertise to achieve positive results for Trescal.

CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN II

The fact that many of my co-workers are also prior service is a nice touch, we all “get it”.

Tom began his calibration profession in the US Navy. After serving for eight years, he left the Navy but was still determining what he wanted to do career-wise. Having always liked mechanics, he got a job as a mechanic at a truck stop. He later joined Trescal in our Charlotte laboratory as a Calibration Technician II when mechanics turned out to be more of a hobby than a career.

He was directly involved in the implementation of Charlotte’s new automated primary pressure standard, which allowed the lab to provide higher accuracy calibrations and decrease turnaround time for all of our customers.

He enjoys working in a dynamic environment, where there are opportunities to acquire diverse skills and knowledge. In addition, working with his colleagues has been a valuable experience that has exceeded his expectations. A long day or a heavy workload didn’t matter then, and doesn’t matter now.

I was ready to learn all about human resources—not just recruiting—and to be at the service of all our employees. I wanted to help them so they could focus on the essentials and love their work environment.

I joined Trescal Benelux at its Antwerp headquarters in August 2016, after only one year of work experience in recruiting.

Over the past three years, I have learned so much about HR (such as payroll, training and development, administration, labor law, and more), thanks to the great support of my supervisor Françoise.

I’ve had the opportunity to develop my skills in a friendly environment that almost feels like family, which was exactly what I needed in order to grow.

Now I have the autonomy to handle many daily responsibilities and prioritize them.

LABORATORY MANAGER

Steven began his career in the US Navy as an avionics technician, then joined Exphil Calibration. After its acquisition by Trescal, he progressed from IT Manager to Laboratory Operations Manager, developing business with new and existing customers, before becoming Laboratory manager.

Steven believes that the Trescal’s team support enables their collective success. He delegates to his peers and has the support of senior management to get the tools and answers he needs. This has led to actionable solutions and continued growth in customer development.

For example, he created an automated certificate generator to help with manual certificate backlog for all labs across the United States.

Overview

Trescal offers an intensive 3 day "hands-on" training for the calibration of physical dimensional gages such as calipers, OD/ID/depth micrometers, length standards, dial and digital indicators, snap gages, height gages and bore gages. Other gages may be covered as class time permits and based on the needs of the participants. Participants bring gages representative of those that they certify on a daily basis and all class members learn proper calibration techniques from each other as well as from the instructor.
